Jim Rohn
Hi, I’m Maria. Thank you so much for coming to my site.
Life has its fair share of challenges and struggles. Sometimes it can reach the point where we feel that we can't take one more thing. The changes, stressors, or losses we experience can get overwhelming... and reaching out for help begins to make sense.
My goal is to help you figure out what is not working for you in your life, to create a plan with you using tools and strategies that suit you, and work together to get you where you want to go.
My areas of expertise include mood and anxiety disorders as well as trauma. Some of the issues I treat include depression, bipolar disorder, panic disorder, PTSD, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and ADHD.
In addition, I enjoy working with people who are experiencing life transitions. That can include anything from adjusting to college life, loss of a loved one, issues with work or relationships, relocation, caregiving, and dealing with chronic illness. Transitions in life can be challenging. Yet, with the right support and tools, instead of just something we get through, it can become something that transforms us in positive, meaningful, and lasting ways.
My treatment style is eclectic, which means I use the many tools and philosophies I have learned over the years to fit each person's individuals needs. I like this because it allows treatment to be a flexible and creative process. I do use what is called cognitive-behavioral therapy a lot, which is using strategies to help people change their thoughts and behavior. I also use problem solving approaches. I see my work as collaborative. We work together to meet the goals that are important to you and add to your quality of life.
Please feel free to contact me with questions or to see how we might work together.
